Hey I love the idea of self striping yarn, tell me does it stripe regardless of the pattern, for mitts and sweaters too?

Self Striping Yarn has set lengths of the yarn in various colours. If you do a bigger project like a sweater or a hat, then the stripes will be narrower than in socks. With a sweater the circumference of your project might be bigger than the strips, so it might end up with a different effect. With bigger projects I find I don't mind the effort to switch colours so much, but it makes my fingering weight socks look a bit lumpy.
