Take 3

I guess its a never ending process..... if at first you don't suceed, try, try, try, try, try again...

I did enjoy myself humming something that sounded suspiciously barouque.

ah well, I'm really going to study now

Sunbow in Fundy

I was just wandering through my picture file and thought this would look neat on a black background. It was a pretty chilly day. Posted by Picasa

In Denali - Kim Heacox p63

Here's the actual picture. Neat eh. Posted by Picasa

Denali Valley in Neat Light 2

See, this one I got the foreground alright, but the rest of it is sort of mediocre. The major difference being that I pencilled in the shapes in the first picture and tried to go freehand in the second picture.

Not that me critiquing my own art is really an excercise I need to do publicly. But I suppose it is useful enough for me to do for my own self. I'm going to post the actual photo and then make a third attempt. The actual photo is really cool. Posted by Picasa

Denali Valley in Nifty Light 1

Well, another attempt at Art. I'll post the actual photograph in a bit. It's from "In Denali" by Kim Heacox. I'm still stuggling with making 3-D mountains. Although, this isn't a bad go of it for me. I lifted them out of the sky. When you look at the actual picture you'll see that they practically blend into the sky. I ran amuck (scuse the pun) in the foreground, which is too bad becuase the rest of the painting isn't too bad until you hit the muddy bit up front.  Posted by Picasa

Gabe's Christmas Corner

Greetings everyone,

I am down to my last exam which I should be finished 24 hours from now. Then begins a whirlwind of activitiy that I'll have to wait until I'm back at school before I recover.

The picture depicts our collection of Christmas cards and some of the decorations that Gabe put up (anyone who knows me, knows how into decorating for holidays I am - well excepting Halloween) That said I have to admit that I appreciate the hominess of them. So, perhaps the basis of my resistance to decorating at school is that such horky operations should be confined to one's home. Its cheery though.

I should be home in T(23:15 on Dec. 19th, 2005) - 87 hours. Elai. I shouldn't have counted yet, its too far away in space, time and hurdles. I still haven't finished my Christmas shopping. Hopefully I'll resolve that shortlyish. Well, probably not until the last minute, but that is sort of my signature move.

I have to admit that I envy Geoff's ability to write thoughtful blogs, rather than embabblements of my life. Geoff, you've set the bar for me, I'm just working towards your standard. Hopefully, onece I have a normal stress level, I'll be able to sit down and write good enteries. Well thought out short essays on life, the universe and social issues.

Clearly, tonight isn't the night to do it. Although I have lots of worthy thoughts being between and urban planning exam and a society and technolical change exam. Perhaps tommorrow night if my writing energies are complete expended or my right arm is still of any use.

Me wearing Gabe's Hat

Well, this is his hat on my head. :D

Don't look too closely in the background, or you'll see that our kitchen needs cleaning in a bad way. I plead exams. (I finished the hat some time ago, I just haven't had time to get the old camera out.

Its beautiful out, I wish I didn't have 2 exams left, because it would be a nice day for taking a walk and some pictures. Ha! Maybe I'll sneak off and do it anyways.

Hope to see some of you soon at any rate.

1 more until I make my first hatrick :D

Here is the finished version of Gabe's hat. Its way better than mine (yes, I guess practice helps) I'm working on a pair of mitts for myself in blue, mulberry and oatmeal wool. I'll keep you posted on the results. Posted by Picasa

No Inukshuks (and yes I'm cheating by fixing up these pictures with Picasa)

This.. is just a weird sky, squishy mountain sunrise... meh... better than writing papers.

:D

Another Inukshuk

This one seems calmer. Enjoying the northern lights I suppose. I miss the northern lights, I've only seen them once or twice here, but it isn't the same. Posted by Picasa

I will Survive

This kooky dancing inukshuk is as happy as I feel to have all those assignment done. I'm onto exams, but the worst is over and I even found a bit of time to paint.

The End of THe Hat as I Knit It

Here it is... the hat I knit it myself. It is a bit weird in places, but I've finally gotten the hang of knitting. This sizing isn't quite right but it was fun. It took me a month of doing half a row at a time but hey, i have a nice long bus ride coming up.

:D

Blogger for Word Trial

I am trying the Blogger for Word software just to see how well it works.  I’m down to 4 assignments to complete before W-day and then I’ll be sailing through a pretty sweet if long exam schedule.

(image placeholder)

I took this picture on Remembrance Day and liked the contrast in uniforms during the parade.

I should get back to writing those papers though, but check out the following links for some neat environmental technology.
